I have gum hyperplasia and a nodule on the palate of my mouth.. and it is hurting?

I have gum hyperplasia and a nodule on the palate of mouth... The palate of my mouth hurts.. How do I get my mouth to stop hurting ???? My dentist wrote my orthodontistt a letter about it.. I faxed the letter this morning... It is uncomfortable... When I had jaw surgery last year they wanted to do a gingivectomy too.. But my insurance company would not cover the gingivectomy..
