If zombies eat living flesh do they drop serious loads?

Has anyone any idea why these night crawlers aren't dumping some serious loafs? Has anyone ever seen or read of where all that flesh goes once the zombie has eaten it? Comic book? B movie...novel. anywhere? I await your answers...eagerly.
