Is there a skin/eye irritation from splashing car engine coolant?

i noticed that my car was overheating and from years of relentless warnings i know to wait a few minutes and slowly unscrew the radiator cap to allow the pressure to slowly leak to avoid a giant scalding splash. well, whether or not that is true (apparently it isnt), overheating coolant/water literally "geysered" up into my face and eyes. is there any dangerous skin reactions coolant maybe known for giving to skin? how about when in the eyes? what is the surest way to clean the face and eyes? (for the record, i have no "bad" reaction on my face nor in my eyes, but i am still curious)
